Traffic Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro is set to play a classic movie monster in the big screen remake of The Wolf Man. The Sin City actor will star in and co-produce the new version of the horror film. Like the original film, which starred Lon Chaney Jr., the remake will be set in Victorian England. Se7en writer Andrew Kevin Walker has started working on the script for the film. Shooting is scheduled to begin early next year, once Del Toro completes work on the Che Guevara biopic Guerrilla. The film will be released in 2008.http://imdb.com/news/wenn/2006-03-16/#3

First time poster, long time admirer of BDT
For those who haven't heard . . . BIG NEWS!
As of October 31st, Benicio del Toro
has been in Argentina, researching his next movie role, Ernesto 'Che' Guevara. There's word that filming will begin in January and the premiere, to be held first in Argentina, is said to happen in December of 2006.
This is very
good news for us BDT fans, who have been eagerly awaiting his next move in film. :D
I'd say more, but why should you listen to me blahblah when you can read the full Spanish and somewhat translated articles found here
. Now have look at the man transforming himself into Che . . . x-posted from my LJ. Current Mood: good

The many colors of Beno
Tonight I was bored and could not sleep, and had Beno on the Brain so I decided to make a BDT colorbar, you know those annoying rainbow graphics that exploded on LJ a little while back. Heh.
I hadn't come across one of him before so hopefully some people will want to paste this into their journal/info somewhere!
Here's the code:
And it should look like:
BDT is the love of my life.
You can change the link text to something more clever, I don't care. And I also don't care if you hotlink or save the image to your own server, it's up to you. Just as long as you link to my userinfo in the link and don't alter the image, you can do whatever you please.

Beno to the rescue
As reported by the World Entertainment News Network, via IMDb:
May 23, 2005
Benicio Del Toro has come to the rescue of Penelope Cruz and her mother after they all got stuck in an elevator at the Cannes Film Festival in France. The Oscar-winning actor saved the Spanish beauty and her mother Encarna from being stranded in the lift after it suddenly shut down as they headed towards a meeting at the Majestic Hotel, where Cruz was attending the film festival to promote drama Chromophobia. A source says, "It was a very scary experience, the lift stopped and no one knew what had happened. Penelope was pretty calm but her mother is claustrophobic and really started panicking. Benicio managed to get them both out of the lift single-handedly even though they were stuck between two floors. He has amazing upper-body strength and lifted Penelope out of the top of the lift like she was a doll." Del Toro adds, "It was pretty hairy but I only did what any other man would do. I was glad to be able to help out."
*swoon* What a great guy. :)

I just watched the movie Sin City
and Jackie Boy was the shit. Any ways, on to my next point. Since this is a Benicio Del Toro community and this does regard him I sure hope this post is okay, but if it isn't please delete it. Any ways, my sister and her friend started up a Sin City
RPG which is great fun, and we are in desperate need of a Jackie Boy
and since all of you are fans we are were wondering if any of you wanted to play him?

Did anyone see Benicio on Conan last Thursday? OMFG! He looked so damn sexy, but the interview was dull, like they had to ask certain questions.
Anyone watching him on SNL Saturday? Wonder what skits he'll do, seems interesting. I hate the new SNL shows, but for Benicio I'll find the willpower to watch it. Current Mood: contemplative

News From March 9th(Might be too late to be breaking news or something)
9 MARCH 2005
Johnny Depp and Bill Murray - who have both portrayed Hunter S. Thompson on the big screen - joined other A-listers in the small town of Aspen, Colorado to pay tribute to the recently deceased gonzo-journalist.
The private ceremony, attended by friends and family, took place at one of Hunter's regular haunts - the Hotel Jerome - which was decorated with an almost life-size black and white photo of the author and a large American flag.
Bohemian cool in a goatie and black newsboy cap, Johnny read a passage from Hunter's classic Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. A police badge pinned to his jacket paid tribute to the author's failed bid for sheriff in 1970, when he ran his election campaign from the bar at the Hotel Jerome.
The memorial also saw eulogies from actors Sean Penn, Jack Nicholson, John Cusack and Johnny's co-star in Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas Benicio Del Toro.
The eccentric author-journalist, 67, took his own life at his home near Aspen in February after suffering weeks of pain from a host of physical problems that included a broken leg and a hip replacement.
Benicio and Johnny will team up once again in the Hunter S. Thompson penned film The Rum Diary which is scheduled to hit cinemas later this year.

Hi all I'm new...
*waves* My name's Beth, I'm 22 and I love Benicio. I just wrote to him last month, didn't get the balls to do it until recently when my friend pressured me in to doing it.
I don't have a key favorite Benicio movie, but it's a toss up between The Hunted and Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. I just never can pick between them, and then sometimes I just get in the Fenster mood and The Usual Suspects sneaks on in.
Anyways I come baring gifts for you all, not just idol rambling about Benicio, but I could if you wanted. I don't think that you would, but if you do you can comment to me and say continue on with this gabbing.Click Here for My Benicio Del Toro AIM Expression
